Challenge

The grant required an attractive way to translate research information into easily read briefs with tactical resources that faculty and staff could use on campus to better support non-traditional students.

Results

Under a Special Populations Collaborative Project grant to educate and support California Community Colleges in being more inclusive of nontraditional students, Marketing Action produced briefs on various topics that were printed and handed out at seminars and conferences as well as posted online. We wrote and edited briefs, adding headlines and formatting the provided research information in an attractive format.

Four briefs were printed in a similar format for branding with different colors to distinguish each. In addition, a website masthead and PowerPoint background was created to reinforce the branding. Several were so well received that additional copies had to be printed.

Amazing Follow-Through
I have worked with Marketing Action, Inc. for several years on initiatives for the California Community College Chancellors Office.

Full Service
In producing informative 2-4 page printed briefs for distribution to faculty and staff throughout the state, Karen Fraser-Middleton handled everything! This included:

  • editing the draft document to make sure it made sense for the audience,
  • checking every detail such as verifying that every website mentioned was live,
  • handling design and layout, and
  • printing and delivering the products.

“We had a consistent look for all the products.”

Branding
Through her efforts, we had a consistent look for all the products so the public could recognize them as belonging to the same series. Pictures were added to support the content of the documents and represent the diverse California Community College population.

Consistency
Marketing Action, Inc. also designed the masthead for the website to match the briefs as well as provided images for PowerPoint presentations. PDFs of the briefs were supplied for online posting as well.

Budget Conscious
I appreciated that when budgets were constrained, Karen was willing to work with us to come up with a marketing solution. For example, she sought out the most economical printers.

Follow-up
Karen Fraser-Middleton’s follow through is amazing and it is a joy to work with her. I would definitely recommend Marketing Action, Inc. to others.
